THE CHALLENGE
The Jetta VR6 was Volkswagen's six-cylinder stealth fighter. We needed to show its performance while keeping the storytelling DNA of our other VW work.
THE SOLUTION
Our solution: a man races desperately to a wedding, pushing the car through country roads and passing trucks at speed. The twist? He's not the groom. He's the rival. And the bride has a choice to make.
The spot aired during the Super Bowl and gained a lasting cultural footprint, later ranked among the best car commercials of all time by Complex (#11) and Bleacher Report (#19).
Even 25 years later, people still comment on YouTube that it's their favorite commercial ever. Not bad for 60 seconds of film.
